Injury AP has sports hernia surgery     -- Thu Feb 7 1:00 pm --

Speedy recovery expected with no long-term concerns
Adrian Peterson's MVP season looks a bit more incredible now that the abdominal injury he played through in December proved serious enough to require surgery. The Vikings released this statement this morning: Adrian Peterson had a surgical procedure done today by Dr. William Meyers, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Meyers was able to successfully repair Adrian’s abdominal core muscle injury (sports hernia). We expect a speedy recovery with no long-term concerns. (Minneapolis Star Tribune)

FF Today's Take: The sports hernia issue became notable after Week 14. Peterson never missed a beat and finished the season and even played in the Pro Bowl before having the surgery yesterday. The MVP should be fine and is in no danger of missing training camp this Summer.
