Wilson denies asking for a new contract     -- Tue Jan 22 1:44 pm --

Seattle QB looks poised to build on strong end to 2012
Russell Wilson has said publicly that he has not requested a new contract. ESPN had previously reported that a representative from the Wilson camp contacted the team, "insisting that something had to be done to adjust the bargain rookie contract for the third-round quarterback." Wilson is set to earn $526,217 in 2013 and $662,434 the following season. Wilson's $798,651 number in 2015 is up for negotiation. "I speak for myself. I never demanded or asked for a restructured contract," Wilson told Sports Illustrated. (Marc Sessler via NFL.com)

FF Today's Take: Wilson finished 2012 as the number eleven fantasy quarterback, but you have to remember that the quarterback struggled early on, and without these struggles he would have finished much higher in the overall rankings. Wilson scored 19 or more points in five of his last six games, and his numbers showed a sharp increase once the Seahawks installed to the zone-read-option.
