Titans to franchise Cook -- Tue Jan 15 1:25 pm --
Tennessee to place $5.962 franchise tag on the maligned TE | ESPN's Paul Kuharsky "fully expects" the Titans to use their franchise tag on impending free agent Jared Cook. Kuharsky is a former Titan’s beat writer, and when the report is placed under this context it sounds more credible. The Titans will spend $5.962 for one year of Cook, who caught 44 passes, 523 yards and four touchdowns in 2013; that’s a steep price. Because of the Titan’s apparent desire to offer Cook the franchise tag, it is easy to see how much value the Titan’s place in him and how much of the blame the Titans put on former offensive coordinator Chris Palmer and tight ends coach John Zernhelt for the 2012 season. FF Today's Take: The Titan’s impending decision to place the franchise tag on Cook puts his fantasy value for 2013 in a new light. If the Titan’s front office decides to commit to Cook financially, the team will most likely be forced to commit to Cook on the field.
