McCoy expected to be new Chargers HC -- Tue Jan 15 1:08 pm --
San Diego lands Denver OC to rejuvenate offense | The Chargers have tabbed Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy to be their next head coach. McCoy was also sought after by the Cardinals, Jaguars, and Bears, but he ultimately decided to stay in the division he’s coached in since 2009. McCoy has built a credible reputation as an offensive minded coach through his ability to adapt to the diverse set of Broncos quarterbacks—Kyle Orton, Tim Tebow, and Peyton Manning—he has seen in his time in Denver. FF Today's Take: McCoy will look to bolster a Chargers offense that struggled to protect the quarterback and lacked explosiveness as a whole in 2012. His experience in the division will be beneficial to his success, and maybe the chargers will be able to regain their pedigree as an offensive force.
