Bengals to look for a playmaker at RB-- Wed Jan 9 11:54 am -- Green-Ellis to become a complimentary player
Bengals OC Jay Gruden confirmed that it will be a high priority this offseason to find a "game changer" at running back. The Bengals hopped that Bernard Scott could become this type of player, but injuries in 2012 sidelined these dreams. BenJarvus Green-Ellis will continue his role as the short-yardage back and red zone threat, but the Bengals want to add a dynamic player to take handoffs from the backfield. (Bengals.com)
FF Today's Take:Green-Ellis had one of his best seasons in 2012 with 1,094 yards and six touchdowns. He has still struggled to catch passes out of the backfield, and this is likely to be one of the reasons that the Bengals want to add a complimentary running back for third down purposes.
