Griffin to have ACL surgery -- Wed Jan 9 11:19 am --
When will he return? | ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Robert Griffin III will undergo a full knee reconstruction after Dr. James Andrews diagnosed Griffin with "complete" tears of both his right ACL and LCL. Griffin’s recovery time looks to be from 6-8 months, and his surgery will take place Wednesday morning. Consequently, this is not the first time Griffin has torn his ACL, and when he first did so, in 2009, his first season back was marked by a 67% completion rate and a 22:8 TD-to-INT ratio. (ESPN.com)
FF Today's Take: Headed into next year’s fantasy drafts Griffin could represent a value pick in most leagues. Owners will be hesitant to take a mobile quarterback less than a year after an ACL tear, but we did see the production that Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles were able to accomplish after less than a year after their ACL tears.
