Broyles aiming for Week 1 return     -- Mon Dec 31 6:35 pm --

Recovering from another ACL tear
Ryan Broyles is hopeful that will be Week 1 of the regular season in 2013, just like it was last year after going through the same type of recovery. “I had surgery two weeks later this year than I did last year and going through the process last time with the injury that I had I understand what I have to do this time to come back,” he said. “I am looking forward to the challenge. I’m always up for it. Definitely shooting for Week 1.” (detroitlions.com)

FF Today's Take: Broyles was just beginning to make his mark in Detroit, but faces a long road back (again) and represents a significant injury risk as he has torn his ACL in both knees in just over a year. Amazingly, for a team that once appeared so deep at receiver, the Lions will be happy to get Nate Burleson back opposite Calvin Johnson after Titus Young got himself booted from the team for purposely lining up in the wrong spot on a number of plays in a Week 11 loss to the Packers.
