Bengals starters wil play -- Wed Dec 26 11:45 am --
Marvin Lewis wants team 'to play to win' | Bengals coach Marvin Lewis told reporters Monday that he will not rest his starters in Week 17 against the Ravens. Lewis has rested his before in 2005 and 2009 as the Bengals entered the playoffs, and both times he found his team eliminated in their first game. The Bengals have clinched a playoff spot and have nothing to gain from their Week 17 matchup. However, it sounds like Lewis wants his team to continue on the hot streak it has been on. "I think it's important for our team to play well. We are going to play to win the football game,” says Lewis. (CBS Sports)
FF Today's Take: If your team is still alive in Week 17, it is good to hear from the Bengals that their starters will play. However, you do not want to put yourself in a situation where the Bengals starters play the first half and are rested in the second half, which is a possibility. Fantasy owners of Bengals players should continue to monitor Lewis’ attitude as the week progresses for further updates. If the Bengals players do play the entire game, they have a good matchup against a Ravens defense that is 20th in the NFL in total defense.
