Injury Sanchez expected to back up McElroy     -- Fri Dec 21 10:40 pm --

Jets QB situation not yet set in stone this week
New York Jets coach Rex Ryan refused to say how he'd stack his quarterback depth chart for Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers, but Mark Sanchez is expected to be the No. 2 behind Greg McElroy, a source confirmed to ESPNNewYork.com on Friday. If McElroy, Sanchez and Tim Tebow are all active Sunday, which Ryan said is a possibility, the team wouldn't be required to announce its No. 2 and No. 3 designations. "As competitors, everyone wants to be out there," said McElroy, who took all of the first-team snaps in Friday's practice. "I know Tim wants to be out there, I know Mark wants to be out there and, of course, I want to be out there as well." (ESPN)

FF Today's Take: Despite likely earning the start, McElroy has little to no value this week.
