Owens to start for Jaguars -- Wed Dec 5 11:28 am --
Jaguars to use a committee at RB, with Owens to lead the way | The Times Union says Montell Owens "seems set to start at running back" against the Jets Sunday. Rashad Jennings has a concussion, Jalen Parmele (groin) is on IR and Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) remains inactive. Although Ownens will start at running back, his participation in the game plan will come in the form of a collective committee with Richard Murphy and possibly Jordan Todman. "I think when he has had his opportunities, which have been very few, I've been pretty pleased with the way he has run the ball. He's just a really good football player," Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey said. (Florida Times Union)
FF Today's Take: Owens will get the majority of carries in the Jaguars offense. However, the Jaguars will likely use a pass heavy game plan, which will limit Owens’ productivity. The Jaguars play the Jets in Week 14 who are 29th in the NFL against the run and have given up the ninth most fantasy points to running backs. If you are desperate however, Owens could be a sneaky play in deep leagues.
