Injury Edelman could miss an extended period     -- Tue Dec 4 10:59 am --

Patriots WR has a leg injury
Adam Schefter reported on Monday Night Countdown that Julian Edelman “looks like he’s going to be out for an extended period” due to a foot injury. The Patriots have always been known to be secretive, but it is believed that Edelman has suffered either a high ankle sprain or a severe foot sprain. Either way, take the Patriots signing of Donte’ Stallworth as an indication that Edelman will not return anytime soon. (ESPN)

FF Today's Take: Edelman’s injury comes to the dismay of fantasy owners who believed they had found a diamond in the rough. Since the Gronkowski injury in Week 10, the Patriots had relied more heavily on Edelman in each week that followed; he caught seven passes for 122 yards and scored two touchdowns over that time. Expect the Patriots to lean on Aaron Hernandez— even more than they already have—until Gronkowski returns.
