Steelers' RB expected to make quick recovery
The injury-ravaged Pittsburgh Steelers have received some good news on running back Rashard Mendenhall. NFL.com and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Mendenhall's Achilles injury is minor, according to a person who has spoken with Mendenhall. The Achilles tightened up during Thursday's 26-23 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Mendenhall's status for the Steelers' next game will be determined by how the Achilles responds over the weekend. FF Today's Take: Isaac Redman posted 119 yards from scrimmage on Thursday night, but 105 of those yards came on passing plays. Look at Redman's strong performance this week as no more than a flash in the pan. He's not the rushing threat that Mendenhall is. As long as Mendenhall is healthy, he'll receive the bulk of the workload out of the Steelers' backfield.
