Mathews to see a continued work load -- Tue Oct 9 12:28 pm --
Norv Turner shows confidence in the rejuvinated back | Following the Chargers loss to the Saints on Sunday, Norv Turner said, “I expect him to be one of the league’s leading rushers,” in regards to Ryan Mathews. Mathews logged 139 all-purpose yards and scored one touchdown. "Everything I’ve said about him in the offseason, every time he’s had adversity, he’s come back stronger. People want to count him out or say, ‘Hey, you can’t count on this guy,’ but he’s come back stronger," Turner said after the game. (Chargers.com)
FF Today's Take: Now that Mathews is healthy, he will have the opportunity to go against an advantageous schedule that includes matchups against the Broncos, Browns, Chiefs, and Buccaneers—13th, 28th, 10th, and 27th in defense—in the next four weeks. There is no reason to think that he will not be the Chargers number one rushing and receiving target moving forward.
