Injury Starks could start for Benson     -- Tue Oct 9 11:32 am --

James Starks could start and split time with Green
Although James Starks has been ruled inactive for the first five games of 2012, he could end up as the starter for the Packers in Cedric Benson’s absence. Benson is likely to miss 8 weeks with a Lisfrank injury. Last year, Starks split time with Ryan Grant and will likely have a similar role this season with second year back Alex Green. Starks averaged 4.3 yards per carry and scored one touchdown last year. (Green Bay Press-Gazette)

FF Today's Take: Starks and Green will get more carries this week but their matchup against the Texans diminishes their value considerably. The Texans are 9th in the NFL against the run but the Packers go on a period of favorable matchups against rush defenses after this week. From Week 7 to Week 9 the Packers play the Rams, Jaguars, and Cardinals who rank 18th, 29th, and 14th respectively against the run. Starks and Green could be value pickups in deeper leagues but Green has more upside in standard ten team leagues.
