Gaffney signed by the Dolphins-- Wed Oct 3 11:36 am -- Veteran WR takes over the spot of disenfranchised Naanee
Jabar Gaffney was signed Tuesday by the Dolphins, while the team also released Legadu Naanee. Naanee had one catch while in Miami that resulted in an unforced fumble. Gaffney worked out for the Dolphins a month ago but was believed to be battling a thigh injury at the time. Gaffney was traded from the Redskins to the Patriots in the offseason but was released in the preseason. (WPTV.com)
FF Today's Take:Gaffney will have no immediate fantasy impact outside of deep PPR leagues. However, the addition of Gaffney may have a long-term affect when it comes to the production of Ryan Tannehill. In last week’s game against the Cardinals, Tannehill directed 31 of 42 targets at either Brian Hartline of Davone Bess. Gaffney is an experienced slot receiver that has averaged 62 catches over the past three years. Brian Hartline had 25 catches all of last year, while Davone Bess had a career-low 51 receptions in 2011.
