Leshoure set to rejoin team following suspension
The Detroit Lions continue to search for a more compelling mix in the backfield. Jason LaCanfora reported Monday that free agents Ryan Grant and Steve Slaton will work out for the team this week. The Lions leaned heavily on Kevin Smith through the first two weeks of the season, but with Mikel Leshoure on his way back from suspension, the workload is about to shift toward a committee approach. FF Today's Take: It isn't unusual for team to work out players at this point of the season. But with Leshoure returning, this seems to be a clear indication that Detroit isn't thrilled with Kevin Smith, Joique Bell or both. Grant looked done in 2011 while Slaton was the talk of Dolphins' camp early before he was released late in the preseason.
