Chargers RB all but ruled out for start of season
Ryan Mathews (broken clavicle), despite his rehab work to achieve otherwise, is expected to miss the start of the season. (Union-Tribune San Diego)

FF Today's Take: Despite some optimism to the contrary, Matthew will definitely start the season on the sidelines. Bones take time to heal. The upside here is that Matthews will return to a full role when healthy and if he can stay healthy may be the busiest back in the league for the final 12 games for the Chargers. That is a big "if" he can stay healthy!
