Steelers' WR preparing to play despite continued holdout
|Mike Wallace’s holdout with the Steelers has not hurt his friendship with teammate Ike Taylor. While Taylor is at Steelers’ camp, Wallace is staying at Taylor’s house in Orlando, Fla., driving his car and working out with a personal trainer to stay in shape. Taylor said that whenever Wallace returns to the team, he will be ready to contribute.
"He’s working hard," Taylor told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review about Wallace, who led the Steelers with 72 catches and 1,193 yards receiving last season. "Whenever he gets back, we’re going to welcome him back with open arms. Mike is taking care of Mike right now. As long as he is working out and getting in football shape, that’s all that matters." FF Today's Take: Antonio Brown burst onto the scene last season in Pittsburgh as a standout receiver, but the Ben Roethlisberger needs Mike Wallace, arguably one of the league's fastest players, to reach 4000 passing yards again this season. Look for both sides to work out a deal at some point during the next couple weeks.
