Marshawn Lynch arrested -- Tue Jul 17 1:00 am --
DUI charge | Marshawn Lynch was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Saturday night and taken to Santa Rita Jail, according to a sheriff's spokesman.
Lynch, 26, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol in Oakland, according to Alameda County Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Raymond Kelly. He was taken to Santa Rita Jail, where he was cited and released.
Lynch was in Oakland last week to award a scholarship to a recent high school graduate through his Fam 1st Family Foundation. (San Jose Mercury News)
FF Today's Take: Lynch's drivers license was revoked in 2008 after he pleaded guilty to "failing to exercise due care toward a pedestrian." and he was also suspended for three games in the 2009 season after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor weapons charge. With his off-field track record, a multi-game suspension is likely looming. Rookie Robert Turbin and Leon Washington would likely share touches if Lynch is forced to miss game action.
