GM expects breakthrough year for Best-- Mon Jul 2 10:50 pm -- Leshoure's recovery may cloud picture
Jahvid Best rushed for 555 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie, plus had 487 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Last season, Best had 390 rushing yards and two touchdowns, plus 287 receiving yards and one touchdown before his latest concussion injury. He also will receive the majority of carries early on for Detroit as Mikel Leshoure serves a two-game suspension. Lions GM Martin Mayhew recently said he expects a breakthrough season for Best, which could occur if he stays injury free. (MLive.com)
FF Today's Take:Things got a bit more interesting today when Tim Twentymen of DetroitLions.com tweeted that Leshoure was able to "cut and burst" on the last day of Lions minicamp. While it is still possible that Leshoure begins the season on the PUP list while he also serves his suspension, a healthy Leshoure will eat away at Best's potential fantasy value but reduce the risk associated with his concussion history.
