Could Ochocinco be go-to WR in Miami?     -- Wed Jun 20 5:50 pm --

Veteran turning back the clock at Dolphins' practice
Chad Ochocinco made a few nice sideline catches, then took a subdued approach in his first interview since signing with the Miami Dolphins last week. "It's been very good the past couple of days," Ochocinco said. "Enjoying an opportunity to come here and play at home, play with a great organization." His new teammates say they've been impressed by how the six-time Pro Bowl selection has looked on the field. "He definitely has `it,"' cornerback Sean Smith said. "I know a lot of people had written him off because of his numbers last year, but he's out here, his routes are crisp, he's coming out of his breaks, he looks good. He's definitely going to be one of those guys that turns heads this year." (SI)

FF Today's Take: Apparently Ochocinco put on an aerial display with leaping catches and sideline snags against much younger defensive backs in practice yesterday. With Brandon Marshall now in Chicago and the Dolphins possessing a slew of unproven wide receivers like Davone Bess, Legedu Naanee and Brian Hartline, 34-year-old Chad Ochocinco has an outside shot at stealing a starting job in Miami. The Dolphins are projected to be one of the worst passing teams in the NFL in 2012 though, so even if Ochocinco somehow finds his way into Miami's starting roster you should temper your expectations.
