SF coach foresees hurt feelings for RBs -- Sat Jun 9 11:40 am --
49ers have a logjam of talented rushers | Tom Rathman is anticipating hurt feelings. The 49ers, after all, essentially have been a one-man show at running back since the 2006 season. That's when Frank Gore took over as San Francisco's featured runner, and he's taken the lion's share of the carries since then. This year, that solo act promises to give way to an ensemble cast. The problem is that there's not a role for everyone. "I don't know if everyone's going to be happy with the time that they get," Rathman, the team's running backs coach, said.

FF Today's Take: In addition to Gore, the 49ers have 2011 fourth round pick Kendall Hunter who performed well last season in a backup role. They also signed bruising running back Brandon Jacobs who will likely get the majority of the team's goal line carries. Add to the mix blazing speedster LaMichael James who was selected by San Francisco in the second round of this year's draft and you get a logjam of talent at the position. Though Gore is still the 49ers' running back to own for fantasy purposes, expect his carries, yards and touchdown totals from 2011 to take at least a 30 percent hit this year.
