Weeden, Little working on end zone fade     -- Wed Jun 6 8:40 pm --

Browns looking like they'll name rookie QB the starter
When practice ends and teammates and coaches disperse, Greg Little said he and rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden will return to the field for a little pitch and catch. There is one play in particular - a fade route to the corner of the end zone - that they will run three or four times every session, the second-year receiver said. With each practice it's becoming more apparent the Browns will give Weeden the first opportunity to start. It's safe to assume when the Browns drive into the red zone, he will make the throw that was a source of frustration for the club last season. (Cleveland Plain Dealer)

FF Today's Take: Brandon Weeden threw the fade route to Justin Blackmon with great success during their time in college, and could very feasibly do so with Greg Little in Cleveland. Little is a unique blend of size, speed and athleticism. His 40 inch vertical jump will make him difficult to defend on fade routes in the end zone. Expect him to build on the 709 receiving yards and two touchdowns he totaled in his 2011 rookie season.
