Seahawks ink eight of 10 draft choices-- Mon May 7 6:10 pm --
Bruce Irvin, Russell Wilson among signees
No need to worry about a no-show by first-round draft choice Bruce Irvin this summer. The pass-rush specialist from West Virginia agreed to contract terms today.
So did seven of the other nine players who were selected by the Seahawks in NFL Draft: Utah State LB Bobby Wagner (second round); Wisconsin QB Russell Wilson (third round); Idaho LB Korey Toomer (fifth round); Northwestern State (La.) CB Jeremy Lane and Kentucky S Winston Guy (sixth round); and North Carolina State G J.R Sweezy and Louisville DE Greg Scruggs (seventh round). (Seahawks.com)
FF Today's Take:Only two fourth-rounders - Utah State RB Robert Turbin and Florida DT Jaye Howard - have yet to sign with the team. For fantasy purposes, the team hopes Irvin will make an Aldon Smith-like impact while Turbin will likely become Marshawn Lynch's handcuff. Wilson will start out as the third-team QB, but may move up a spot in 2012 if Matt Flynn convincingly beats out Tarvaris Jackson this summer as many expect, thereby making Jackson expendable.
