Jets ink speedy 2nd round WR to deal-- Fri May 4 9:50 pm -- Stephen Hill signs four-year contract with New York
The Jets quickly got their speedy new wide receiver under contract. A person familiar with the deal said Thursday night that New York and second-round draft pick Stephen Hill agreed to terms on a four-year contract worth just under $5 million. (SI)
FF Today's Take:Look for Hill to step in immediately at wideout opposite Santonio Holmes and produce. He has big play ability, as is indicated by the 29.3 yards per catch average he displayed last season and the blazing fast 4.36 40 time he clocked at the combine. At 6-foot-4, the rookie also has a height advantage over opposing cornerbacks. If the Jets can get some consistency at the quarterback position, Hill could be a dark horse rookie of the year candidate in 2012.
