Week 6 Outlook Bleak For Lions Top QB and RB
Detroit Lions rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford and receiver Calvin Johnson did not practice on Thursday. Johnson was on the field in a warmup suit while Stafford wasn't even at the practice. While the Lions won't comment on the players' status for Sunday's game against the Packers, it appears unlikely either will play. Both Stafford and Johnson are recovering from right knee injuries. FF Today's Take: Daunte Culpepper and Dennis Northcutt would likely fill in again, just as they did when Stafford was held out of Week 5 and Johnson was injured in the first quarter vs. Pittsburgh. Desperate Johnson owners could do worse than turn to either Bryant Johnson or Northcutt against a Packers' defense that is allowing the seventh-most points to opposing fantasy WRs in 2009.
