Injury Rams' Avery Eyes Quick Return     -- Wed Aug 26 3:32 am --

Might Be Ready By Opener
Avery was injured Aug. 7 during the Rams' scrimmage at Lindenwood University. The mere fact that he was running routes less than three weeks after suffering a stress fracture in his left foot rates as some of the best news of the preseason. The original projection was a four- to six-week recovery, which at the worst would have sidelined him for two regular-season games. Now it looks as if Avery may be out for only four weeks — tops. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)

FF Today's Take: Avery is the best fantasy WR in St. Louis yet he won't be drafted in shallow leagues. Keep in mind Marc Bulger will begin the season with an injured thumb, likely preventing him from throwing the deep ball to the speedy Avery.
