| Browns name Freddie Kitchens head coach Gregg Williams let go By: Mike Krueger | Jan 9 2019, 11:30 am
| The Browns on Wednesday will name Freddie Kitchens, 44, their ninth full-time head coach in the expansion era, a league source confirmed for cleveland.com. Kitchens beat out co-finalist and Vikings interim coordinator Kevin Stefanski, 36, for the job. Stefanski, who came to Cleveland for a second interview on Tuesday, will return to Minnesota as offensive coordinator, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. (Cleveland Plain Dealer)
FFToday's Take: In a corresponding move, the Browns fired defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. Kitchens was promoted to offensive coordinator mid-season and has drawn praise from GM John Dorsey for his play-calling and giving the offense a boost in the second half of the season. Kitchens has NFL experience but 2018 was the first time he's reached the coordinator level.
