Sam Darnold the favorite to start Week 1

Barring deer-in-the-headlights moments over the next couple weeks, it’d be an upset if Sam Darnold isn’t the Week 1 starter. The brain trust is happier with this kid with each passing day, according to people familiar with the organization’s giddiness level. (New York Daily News)

FFToday's Take: Darnold doesn't figure to have much of a Year 1 impact in terms of being a regular fantasy starter, but this is great news for the future of the Jets. Owners would be advised to watch him play against Washington on Thursday to see if he locks onto a particular receiver, as it may offer a bit of a hint if there is a potential sleeper in green and white. Darnold obviously is a solid dynasty buy.
