Jonathan Williams making a move? RB could be poised to replace Mark Ingram during his suspension By: Doug Orth | Aug 13 2018, 5:40 pm
Mark Ingram isn’t making it easy to forget that he will be suspended for the first four games of the season. It seems like he has a carry every day that makes you take note of his presence on the field. He just moves differently than the guys contending to fill in for him. As far as that battle goes, it looks like Jonathan Williams is making a run up the depth chart. Hopefully, he gets a chance to play against Arizona’s starters so we can find out how good he really is. (The New Orleans Advocate)
FFToday's Take:HC Sean Payton has stated multiple times he does not expect Alvin Kamara's workload to increase much during Ingram's absence, leaving the door for someone like Williams to get some solid playing time in September. It's not inconceivable someone with as much talent as Williams could impress enough during Ingram's absence to carve out a bit of a role for himself even after Ingram returns. Still, he's a late-round lottery ticket in deeper leagues at best.
