More work in passing game for McCaffrey?
Beat writer predicts carries may not "go up by much"
By: Doug Orth | Jul 16 2018, 6:20 pm

Christian McCaffrey’s ability as a receiver was a tool the Panthers relied on heavily during his rookie season. He caught 80 passes for 651 yards and five touchdowns. In Norv Turner’s offense, McCaffrey might see those numbers rise. McCaffrey’s carries won’t go up by much, but he’ll have 900 receiving yards this season. (The Charlotte Observer)

FFToday's Take: To be fair, the last sentence was a bold prediction. Nevertheless, it's notable anyone covering the team believes McCaffrey will see more work in the passing game after he caught 80 passes on 117 targets as a rookie and the team added a first-round pick at receiver in D.J. Moore. Greg Olsen will be back from injury as well. If McCaffery finishes around 150 carries and 90 catches, he will almost certainly return first-round value in most leagues.
