Cowboys pull the trigger, release Dez Bryant
Bryant was due $12.5 million in 2018

Dallas Cowboys
Dez Bryant's storied run with the Dallas Cowboys has come to a sudden end. The team on Friday released the veteran wideout. Bryant was due $12.5 million in 2018, a base salary attached to a weighty $16.5 million cap hit. He stated publicly all offseason that he held no intentions of taking a pay cut. In the end, Dallas never offered Bryant a pay cut, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. (NFL.com)

FFToday's Take: A combination of Bryant's salary, cap hit and declining skills likely led to this decision. With Allen Hurns, Cole Beasley and Terrance Williams at the top of the depth chart, the Cowboys will likely be looking for some WR help in the upcoming draft. Bryant (29) should fine a new home relatively quickly. Where? How about... Carolina, Green Bay, Indianapolis, San Francisco or Washington.
