AJ McCarron wins grievance, set be a free agent
Arbitrator paves way for McCarron to be unrestricted free agent
By: Mike Krueger | Feb 15 2018, 5:00 pm

An independent arbitrator ruled that the 27-year-old AJ McCarron won his grievance against the Bengals regarding their decision to place him on the non-football injury (NFI) list at the start of 2014. He will now become an unrestricted free agent when the new league year begins at 4 p.m. ET on March 14. (Cincinnati Enquirer)

FFToday's Take: The Benqals thought McCarron injured his shoulder outside of football and away from the team in 2014 and as a result did not accrue a season toward free agency. McCarron thought the NFI listing was bogus. The arbitrator's agreement and decision paves the way for McCarron to be an interesting acquisition for quarterback needy teams like Arizona, Cleveland, Minnesota, Denver and the New York Jets.
