Arizona expected to release Adrian Peterson
Cardinals likely to save $2.5 million against the cap
By: Mike Krueger | Jan 31 2018, 2:00 pm

Arizona Cardinals
After acquiring him from the New Orleans Saints in October, the Arizona Cardinals will be moving on from running back Adrian Peterson, according to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s Mike Jurecki. Peterson’s salary cap hit for the 2018 season would be $3.5 million, $2 million in base salary and the rest in the form of bonuses. (Arizona Sports)

FFToday's Take: Peterson started out the 2017 season in New Orleans but was never a good fit for the Saints offense. After his trade the Cardinals, Peterson found his way on IR after a Week 12 neck injury. At 32 years old (33 in March) Peterson will likely have to accept being a part of a committee backfield in 2018.
