By: Mike Krueger | Jan 30 2018, 9:00 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to trade quarterback Alex Smith to the Washington Redskins, league sources confirmed to ESPN's Field Yates. Smith and the Redskins reached an agreement on a four-year contract extension, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal cannot be completed until the new league year begins March 14. It is expected to be for a second-round pick and possibly more, according to a source. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Our first big transaction of the 2018 season has been leaked. The deal can't be made official until the league year begins on March 14th. The Redskins have been employing Kirk Cousins on the franchise tag the last two years. Smith had his best season as a pro last year, throwing for 4042 yards, 26 TDs and 5 INTs. Patrick Mahomes will take over the starting quarterback job in Kansas City.
