| Andre Ellington released RB was healthy scratch in Week 11 By: Doug Orth | Nov 20 2017, 5:45 pm
| The Arizona Cardinals released running back Andre Ellington on Monday, a day after he was a healthy scratch for their game against the Houston Texans. Arizona's official release did not cite a reason, but Ellington was in the Cardinals' locker room after the game. (ESPN - Josh Weinfuss)
FFToday's Take: The writing was on the wall after his usage had tanked since the Cardinals acquired Adrian Peterson, but this news is still surprising considering how active he was in the passing game through the first five weeks of the season. Washington would seem to be an obvious suitor for his services after losing Chris Thompson, but he shouldn't be out of work for long. As far as Arizona is concerned, Ellington's release could free up time for D.J. Foster to take over his old role.
