DeShone Kizer looks like he's getting benched
Coach says demotion will help rookie long-term
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Oct 10 2017, 10:44 am

Cleveland Browns
Kevin Hogan hasn’t been named the 28th starting quarterback of the Browns since 1999, but all signs point to rookie DeShone Kizer staying on the bench. Coach Hue Jackson indicated Monday he’s leaning toward starting Hogan on the road Sunday against the Houston Texans when he explained Kizer would benefit from watching, regrouping and learning from the sideline. FFToday's Take: “My decision is what is best for the team, what is best for our team to put us in position to win, also, what is best for DeShone,” Jackson said. “It’s not just for the team, but what is best for him just so that he can feel like, ‘OK, I am moving further along in this process, and I’m understanding what I need to do to be better.’ All of that will go into my decision." Sounds like Kizer can be safely dropped in 12-team redrafts, but he's certainly worth holding onto for dynasty leagues, if Hue Jackson the soothsayer is correct.
