Trevor Siemian named the starting QB in Denver Paxton Lynch to remain backup for second straight year By: Doug Orth | Aug 21 2017, 9:30 pm
Trevor Siemian won the Denver Broncos' quarterback battle with his steady play. Broncos HC Vance Joseph named Siemian his starting quarterback at a news conference Monday, saying Siemian was the "clear-cut winner" in his duel with Paxton Lynch. (NFL.com - Kevin Patra)
FFToday's Take:Lynch was considered a project as a first-round pick in 2016 and he remains raw despite making strides this offseason. Siemian's "win" is good news for Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, as the former seventh-round pick is a steady veteran who can move the offense and won't often put the Broncos' vaunted defense into too many unfavorable positions. Siemian is a middling QB2 for fantasy purposes.
