Jets cut loose K Nick Folk
Cost cutting move sends kicker into free agency

The Jets have released K Nick Folk, who ranks No. 2 on the franchise’s all-time points list with 729. Folk joined the Jets as a free agent on Feb. 23, 2010. Over the course of the next seven seasons, Folk connected on 175 field goals and his field goal percentage of (81.3) ranks highest of any Jets kicker with a minimum of 100 attempts. FFToday's Take: Folk connected on 27 of 31 field goal attempts last season (87%) but never made it on fantasy radar finishing 20th among qualified kickers. He's a good bet to land somewhere else once free agency beings on March 9th.
