Julio Jones held out of practice Thursday
Making "good progress" after suffering calf injury in Week 2
By: Doug Orth | Sep 22 2016, 5:25 pm

Falcons All-Pro WR Julio Jones, who had a player fall on the back of his calf with 5:02 to play in the Oakland game, did not practice on Thursday. “He’s making good progress as we are going,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. “He’s able to participate in some of the walk-throughs to get moving around.” Quinn expects Jones to play against the New Orleans Saints on Monday in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. FFToday's Take: Jones is no stranger to playing hurt, but there doesn't appear to be much concern (yet) about his status for Week 3. He's a WR1 every week he hits the field, but it should be noted he has seen a total of 13 targets through two weeks - a number he hit or surpassed in a single game eight times last season and the same number Mohamed Sanu has. Unless he encounters some kind of setback, he is a must-start versus New Orleans on Monday Night Football.
