| Seahawks rookie quarterback Trevone Boykin was charged with misdemeanor assault this week in connection with an incident on Dec. 31 in San Antonio.
Bexar County (Texas) Court records show that Boykin will face arraignment on the charge on Aug. 1. The Seahawks open training camp on July 30. According to multiple reports at the time, Boykin was arrested after he was thrown out of a bar and then allegedly struck a police officer.

FFToday's Take: The league was aware of this incident prior to the draft and it likely caused Boykin to go undrafted in April. Boykin stated: “It probably had some effect, but like I said I’ve moved forward, pushed past it and surrounded myself with better people,” he said. “I’m doing better things and I’m excited for coach (Pete) Carroll to call me and bless me with this opportunity.” According to the team, Boykin is still expected to be the backup behind Russell Wilson.
