| Stephen Anderson impressed in spring workouts Texans UDFA boasts 4.58 speed, 38-inch vertical By: Doug Orth | Jun 27 2016, 5:45 pm
| During the NFL draft, TE Stephen Anderson got passed over despite a series of impressive workouts and a productive collegiate career. Anderson capitalized on the absence of veteran TE C.J. Fiedorowicz and Ryan Griffin to take on a heavy workload during offseason practices. Although undersized at 6-2, 230 pounds, the former wide receiver has 4.58 speed in the 40-yard dash and a 38-inch vertical leap.
"He's come out and really put in a great effort every day. He's picked up things very quickly and, on top of that, he's got great athleticism. He's got good hands," Texans TE coach John Perry said. (Houston Chronicle)
FFToday's Take: The Texans finished second-to-last in fantasy points at the tight end position in 2015, so they'll gladly welcome a player with Anderson's athleticism. The UDFA still has some work to do to secure a roster spot and rookie tight ends are notorious for not producing as rookies, so redraft owners can probably sit tight. Dynasty owners should take note, however, as Anderson checks a lot of boxes in regards to becoming a worthwhile fantasy tight end down the road.
