Deuce McAllister at ATL
You'd think that as poorly as the Saints are doing, that Deuce must be having a bad year--since team success usually starts with a great running back. He's not scoring on the same pace as last year, but his ypc is 4.5 and he's already caught 25 balls, so he's active and fruitful when the Saints use him. Atlanta is just dreadful defensively. Deuce had one great game against the Falcons last year, and one that was not good at all. The odds are with Deuce, though.

William Green vs SD
Green started off very slowly, but has posted consecutive 100 yd games and even scored last week against Oakland. San Diego has severe problems against the run, but I sense they will try to stack the box in order to focus on Green. This obviously will lead to a nice day from Tim Couch, but Green should get his licks. His ypc is not all that impressive, but the big change in the last two weeks has been from an increase in carries. He certainly won't get shorted this week.

Domanick Davis vs NYJ
Don't look now, but the Texans can put up some points all of a sudden. Expansion teams usually try to start with defense and a raw QB, but the Texans have given David Carr some weapons to work with on offense. The newest of them is RB Domanick Davis, who had his first big game last weekend and as a result took most of the first team snaps away from Stacey Mack in practice this week. Mack has been erratic and seems to hold the rest of the offense back. Based on a single game, it's hard to say Davis is the answer. But the Jets are giving up almost 150 yards a game on the ground, and at home Houston will want to control the ball.

Ladell Betts at BUF
It's unclear that this represents Betts' "big chance" to take the starting duties for himself in the long term; the team has been successful rotating backs depending on the situation. Of course with Canidate out, Betts becomes the primary back--but Chad Morton and Rock Cartwright will see extra carries as well. Betts has been OK around the goal line, but Cartwright is more likely from the 2 (TD only owners take note). Betts has been decent, and Buffalo's rush D is average at best.

Recaps -- 10/21

  • Priest, you let me down. 5th? How could you?

  • Pretty happy with the Deuce pick here. Good matchup, he responded well.

  • Bingo on Alexander.

  • Pretty damn close on Portis too. I like it!

  • Jamal Lewis, buzz kill. Early blowout cost him.

  • Stephen Davis, totally ineffective. Hurt, or just royally stuffed?

  • Ahman Green had a horrible day rushing, but the receiving yards helped. Right in there at 9.

  • What can the Browns do for me? How about sack up and play some disciplined offense? Thank you NOT, William F.U. Green.

  • (no, Willy--babe! How far back do we go? That's just ham stuff. Hypin by hatin', y'know. No, I definitely got your back, Dub. Yeah, say thanks to your cousins again for the tickets. Sorry about your uncle's uh, fissure problem. Take care, Will.)

  • Miami Ricky takes the week off.

  • LT should have been in Jamal's slot (or Deuce's, I guess), but putting him 10th gave Cleveland (cough) too much credit.

  • OK, for every Jake Delhomme prediction, there is a Domanick Davis prediction. Slotted 11th, finished 8th. You're welcome.

  • Travis Henry, welcome back. I don't care what he does between the 20s, when he sniffs the goalline he makes his way in. He has a fair number from 6, 8, 14 and like distances, and he doesn't run around people--he just pushes forward. If you're in a TD league and you bought Henry, you're doing better than the guy with Priest--how bout them apples?

  • The line of DNAs here is frightening. Betts was the only one with a valid excuse.

  • Shoulda stuck Hambrick above those other four chumps.

  • Moe doesn't tag along for the Cirque de Randy, he probably finishes about where I had him. Nice presence of mind, though.

  • All weekend I heard, "Where's Tiki? What'd you do with Tiki? You forgot Tiki Barber, you urine-soaked burlap sack full of other urine soaked burlap!" Truth be told, I did forget him. Thought he was there, was immediately and rudely informed otherwise by the peanut gallery. Special shout out to Mom--up yours to you too! Double back! So I stuck him in at 19th, and he finished 18th. He was a falldown or a skip out of bounds away from being off the list entirely, but with your help I earned two points. Thank you, blessed readers, thank you. Mom, you're forgiven.

  • I really ought to get credit for this one, because LaMont Jordan was actually the guy who finished 20th. :)

  • Solid week at RBs. If we're over 50% on RBs, we're doing our job. I guess.

    Accuracy - 53.81%
