Player Team Type Comment
Allred, John CHI UFA The Bears need a healthy John Allred - I think he stays.
Banta, Bradford NYJ UFA Shouldn't a guy named Bradford be playing a spoiled rich punk on Beverly 90210 instead of playing a spoiled rich backup TE in Queens 11417?
Baxter, Fred NYJ UFA May get one more year to help Anthony Becht along, but I doubt it. He'll probably be elsewhere next year and he's really of no value to you.
Broughton, Luther PHI UFA If the Eagles can't resign Lewis then he's the next TE they try to retain. He's a backup TE for you at best though.
Chamberlain, Byron DEN UFA There's no replacing Shannon Sharpe but the TE-by-committee thing wasn't all that bad for the Broncos but killed fantasy owners. No value here unless he's the only starter in Denver.
Cleeland, Cameron NO RFA Lots of potential, but he needs to be healthy and consistent. I say gamble on him one more year.
Coates, Ben BAL UFA On the road again…this once dominant TE can't do anything but be a backup now, which sucks for us. He may get a shot at starting somewhere where they are desperate for a TE though - Atlanta, Dallas, etc.
Davis, John MIN UFA Too many Viking TEs and the position is so under-utilized in Minnesota. Not worth even watching this off-season.
Davis, Reggie SD RFA (1) He plays behind Freddie Jones, and (2) he plays on the Chargers - keep moving sir…
Davis, Tyrone GB UFA Unless he converts to WR, Bubba Franks makes him obsolete.
Drayton, Troy KC UFA Another once-upon-a-time stud TE. A backup to Tony Gonzalez is as good as having no TE on your roster unless Tony the Tiger gets hurt. Drayton has to move on to be productive.
Dudley, Rickey OAK UFA Will he or won't he? I can't see the Raiders going out of their way to resign him. They have a nice 2nd year TE to fill his role and a nice salary cap savings with him leaving. He could go somewhere and be a star though so watch him closely.
Dunn, Jason KC UFA You'd be better off putting me on your roster than the #3 TE on Kansas City.
Gedney, Chris ARI UFA Like any Cardinals are worthy of discussion - but hey, they got a new stadium coming soon!
Gedney, Chris ARI UFA Like any Cardinals are worthy of discussion.
Hape, Patrick TB UFA If the Bucs start throwing to backup TEs, Keyshawn might commit suicide.
Jenkins, James WAS UFA No value whatsoever, unless your league drafts blocking TEs.
Jordan, Andrew MIN UFA Another Viking TE…see John Davis.
Kozlowski, Brian ATL UFA C'mon, there' s really nothing good to say here.
Lewis, Chad PHI UFA Super-stud in the making. I can't imagine the Eagles letting him go anywhere.
Mangum, Kris CAR RFA He's too valuable as a backup TE to Wesley Walls for the Panthers to let go. Of course that does us no good.
Mayes, Alonzo MIA RFA What a "could've been" he is. He could still come around but it has to happen soon - I say stay away until he shows promise.
McWilliams, Johnny MIN UFA Yet another Viking TE…see John Davis.
Mili, Itula SEA RFA He still has potential in Holmgren's offense, especially once the Seahawks get a good QB. He should stay and surprise next year.
Mili, Itula SEA RFA He still has potential in Holmgren's offense, especially once the Seahawks get a good QB. He should stay and surprise next year, if he can hold off Rufus French.
Mitchell, Pete NYG UFA Sort of a disappointment in NY, but he was like that in Jacksonville too. I think he's too expensive to stay in NY so watch where he lands - he's still worth taking a chance on given the lack of quality TEs.
Perry, Ed MIA UFA No relation to Friends' star Matthew Perry.
Pollard, Marcus IND UFA The upside is with Pollard, not Dilger, so the Colts should try to keep him.
Pupunu, Alfred DET UFA Was a surprise a couple of years ago. Now it's a surprise when he scores any points for you - forget him.
Rasby, Walter DET UFA Hey, isn't the Rasby a sports award? Oh wait, that's the ESPY, my bad.
Santiago, O.J. DAL UFA A big disappointment in Atlanta and now in Dallas. Don't be surprised to watch him leave Big D and latch on somewhere else as a backup. Either way, avoid him.
Santiago, O.J. CLE UFA A big disappointment in Atlanta and Dallas. Don't be surprised to watch him leave the Dawg Pound and latch on somewhere else as a backup. Either way, avoid him.
Sinceno, Kaseem CHI RFA Contrary to published reports, he is not related to Kasey Kasem.
Spence, Blake TB RFA Wasn't he the Dad on "Dynasty" - or was that Blake Carrington?
Thomason, Jeff PHI UFA Either the Eagles will be without a TE at all or they have their choice of who to spend the money on. Somehow I don't think it will be Jeff though.
Wetnight, Ryan GB UFA Journeyman TE, Wetnight may stay as a backup here, but if he moves he's just a backup someplace else, so ignore.
Williams, Roland STL RFA Another St. Louis offensive weapon on the market. This one they can control though, and the TE is really not a major concern for the Rams anyway. He probably won’t move either way in the TE rankings regardless of what happens with him this off-season.
