Bill's recap of the 2000 fantasy season continues with a look at
the rookies who broke onto the scene in a big way.

| Aaron Brooks |
QB |
NO |
OK, so he's not
a rookie (2nd year QB, drafted by Green Bay
last year), but he came out of nowhere, in the second
half of the year, to thrill us all, and there are no
rookie QBs with any significant playing time. Note:
Culpeper was too studly to be considered here. Jeff
Blake must be sweating this out - bet he didn't see
this coming when he went down. |
| Mike Anderson |
RB |
DEN |
Ho-hum, another
Denver rookie RB dominates the league. Who will it be
next year? And where will Anderson be next year? |
| Jamal Lewis |
RB |
BAL |
His leg held up
and he lived up to expectations in Baltimore. That Tennessee
sure does produce some quality players. |
| Aaron Shea |
TE |
CLE |
Bubba Franks and
he were neck-in-neck, but Bubba got all the press and
Aaron was low-key and buried in Cleveland, so he gets
the honors and the publicity this time around. By the
way - where's Anthony Becht? |
| Peter Warrick |
WR |
CIN |
Nothing spectacular,
but he did lead all rookie WRs this year - and he did
it on the worst team in the league - and worst franchise
in professional sports. |
| Darrell Jackson
|
WR |
SEA |
Darrell quietly
produced just as well as Warrick did. Holmgren kept
him in check though and that will be good for his career,
especially if Seattle gets a real QB next year. |
| Sylvester
Morris |
WR |
KC |
I expected more
from Sly this year (and Laveranues Coles too), but he
had to contend with a terrible coach, an up-and-down
team and trying to catch passes on the same team as
Derrick Alexander and Tony Gonzalez. |
| Tim Seder |
K |
DAL |
The only bright
spot in Texas this year… and he'll probably be the only
bright spot in Texas next year (unless Emmitt breaks
Payton's yardage record - which is questionable for
next year). |
