I do not believe that the Panthers will reach this far for a QB. The arguments are plain: new coach = new QB. But the record of Alex Smith and JaMarcus Russell balances the pull of Stafford and Bradford. There are no similarly graded QBs in this group. Like Detroit taking Megatron, in spite of three 1st round WRs, Carolina will bow to logic and dare the fans to complain. Locker at #8 makes better sense, but I would put Gabbert there.

All that in stride, Dareus will not last past 6 teams. Give him to Denver, then fit in Peterson. Arizona seems to love Miller, so that stays put, but that and maybe Green to Cleveland and Jones to Washinton are the only top 10 picks I would not change. Dallas would trade up for Dareus if he fell past CinC, since he would be a perfect 5 tech. Your point of the depth of 5 techs, so a trade down would be likely. On this board, they would grap Prince Amukamara, considering the huge drop to the 2nd round rated CB.

Some picks I like.
#10 Jones, though it would be hard to pass Fairley.
#11 Aldon Smith He makes sense here, and should go no further.
#15 Ingram - St Louis might take him on this board.
#16 Kerrigan - The Jags need a DE, but also like the smarts
#18 JJ Watt - Give him to New England at #17, but this is the right position for SD and slot for Watt.
#21 Phil Taylor - I think he will go higher, but I doubt he goes lower.
#25 Ponder - Seattle will winnow the wheat and comeup with a name.
#27 Rudolph - Gutsy call. It may be a bit early, but the talent is there.
